About me
I am an associate professor in the coastal marine group in the School of Science at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand. I’ve taken a long route to get here via research in the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK. Current (bad pun intended) research interests include coastal oceanography particularly field-based process studies, the interaction of flows with vegetation, mixing processes, biophysical interaction and geophysical and environmental fluid dynamics. Given my background in mathematics, I should perhaps also note that my Erdős number is 5 (so any potential collaborators with an Erdős number of 3 or lower are particularly welcome)! More details of individual research projects can be found under the research tab.
When not working, I like to play outside in the mountains particularly on ice.
